MADRID, April 15 (Xinhua) -- Bournemouth manager Andoni Iraola's decision to leave the Premier League club at the end of the season could trigger a coaching shake-up in England and Spain.

Iraola departs after three years on the south coast having earned praise for the energetic football Bournemouth produced under his leadership and for maintaining results despite the sale of key players such as Antoine Semenyo, Dominic Solanke and Milos Kerkez.

The 43-year-old has already been linked by British media with several Premier League clubs, including Crystal Palace, Newcastle United, Chelsea, Manchester United, Manchester City and Liverpool.

Newcastle has sought to cool speculation over interest in Iraola, although questions remain over Eddie Howe's future after a disappointing season at St James' Park.

Liverpool could also look to former player Xabi Alonso if Arne Slot is dispensed with after an underwhelming campaign.

Manchester City's situation depends on whether Pep Guardiola decides to remain at the club. Iraola's past connection with the City Football Group, having ended his playing career at New York City FC, could count in his favor if City needs a successor.

Manchester United's performances between now and the end of the season will shape whether it continues with Michael Carrick or turns to another coach, with Iraola likely to be among the names under consideration.

Chelsea has also been mentioned as a possible destination, with Liam Rosenior reportedly under pressure after only three and a half months in charge. However, the club's recent turnover and the limited control its coaches have over first-team affairs may make the job less attractive.

British media has also suggested Iraola's decision is influenced by a desire to return to Spain. He is known to have strong ties to his native Basque region.

Iraola is a club icon at Athletic Club, where he came through the youth system and made 510 first-team appearances. With Ernesto Valverde set to step down at the end of the season, Iraola would be a natural candidate to replace him.

Athletic remains a possible destination, although some Spanish media reports have suggested club president Jon Uriarte, who is expected to be re-elected unopposed later this month, has an agreement in place with former Borussia Dortmund coach Edin Terzic.

Villarreal is another option. The club is third in La Liga and on course to qualify for the Champions League, but Marcelino Garcia Toral has yet to renew his contract amid reports of dissatisfaction over Villarreal's European campaign and an early Copa del Rey exit.

With a squad full of quick, attack-minded players, Villarreal could offer a good fit for Iraola's style.

For now, Iraola appears to have no shortage of options as clubs in England and Spain weigh up their next move.
